As technology evolves, Procos is closely following scientific developments, innovation, trends and new market requirements. We are proud to launch a completely new earth-friendly line. This line includes a wide range of compostable paper products, reusable products as well as products that are made of renewable sources. Compostable products after their use can be returned to the environment where they decompose fast and do not leave toxic residues. Our Home and Industrial Compostable products have been certified by TÜV Austria ensuring that these products deliver what they promise.

OK Compost Home

“OK compost Home” is a certification that can be applied to certain products that can be composted at lower temperatures, so they can go into the compost heap in your garden at home. The requirements for a product to be certified as “OK Compost Home” are :

At least 90% Disintegration in 26 weeks at ambient temperatures (between 20°C and 30°C)
At least 90 % Biodegradation in 12 months at ambient temperatures (between 20°C and 30°C)
Absence of negative impact on the plants after composting
Low level of heavy metals and fluorine (according to EN 13432)

OK Compost Industrial

“OK compost Industrial” is a certification that can be applied to certain products that can be composted at higher temperatures and in a controlled environment, so they can go to an industrial composting plant. The requirements for a product to be certified as “OK Compost Industrial” are :

At least 90% Disintegration in 12 weeks at high temperatures (between 75°C and 40°C – temperature changes over the different parts of the test)
At least 90 % Biodegradation in 6 months at high temperatures (about 60°C)
Absence of negative impact on the plants after composting
Low level of heavy metals and fluorine (according to EN 13432)

The Nordic Swan Ecolabelling is the official ecolabel for the Nordic countries and works to reduce the environmental impact from production and consumption of goods. Procos holds the Nordic Swan Ecolabel for certain napkins and plates.

By holding the Swan Ecolabel we ensure that:

Strict environmental requirements are set in all relevant phases of a product's life cycle.
Strict requirements are set for chemicals used in ecolabelled products.
All requirements are met before a product is approved.
